Sooner or later rhythmic gymnast (as any sportsman) asks herself: “What comes next?” This is the time when gymnast should make a choice.

Today rhythmic gymnastics is not only super complicated jumps, turns, flexibility elements, but it’s also gorgeous play of colors on the leotards. In other words, now gymnasts perform not in “swimming suits”, but in leotards which look like mini-dress of figure-skaters. Such famous gymnasts as Irina Deriugina and Aleksandra Timoshenko could only dream of such outfit. Let’s have a closer look at the history of rhythmic gymnastics costume.

Rhythmic gymnastics is introduced not only in Individual All-Around Category, but also in Group Category at the tournaments of different levels. Everybody knows the winners of Individual competitions by sight, but hardly anyone knows well the names of the RG Teams’ participants. People say “Team Russia”, “Team Germany”, “Team Bulgaria” instead … and this seems to be unfair, as their less popularity doesn’t mean that they are less important.

Sports Law exists in many countries; it requires that all sportsmen, taking part in competitions, to have a medical examination once a year in order to make sure injury isn’t inflicted  on them.

But is it enough to be examined just once a year according to Sports Law? Of course, not!

Many people are complaining on fatigue, exhaustion, quick weariness and performance decrement. Perhaps, they should take some vitamins and strength will come back. Moreover, there are a lot of medicines, which promise to increase the tone. But it's not all as easy as it sounds. It’s not always useful to stimulate sportsman’s performance capability.

They dispute about what sphere rhythmic gymnastics belongs to: sport or art. And each side of this dispute can provide convincing arguments. Sport historians insist on the fact that rhythmic gymnastics is one of the popular and respected kinds of sport. But many art critics are ready to equally insist on the fact that, first and foremost, rhythmic gymnastics belongs to art.
